The PHRAGMITES Group at the UPA

Claude Lavoie (Laval University) was invited on 12 March 2013 by the Union des producteurs agricoles (Montérégie region) to give a one hour presentation on the invasive common reed, its impacts on agriculture as well as methods to control its expansion. More than 60 agricultural producers and agronomists attended the conference held at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. This was the first time that the PHRAGMITES group was invited to give a talk to an audience interested in agricultural questions. The conference aroused keen interest.
